Fashion and make-up

Long time I’ve been posting something under this category.. When I started on my blog, I though this would be one of the most populair topics I would write about. The thing is, I find it hard to make myself clear in words with regards to the topic fashion. Nevertheless, that doesn’t make the following any less true:

Fashion is a personal statement. Make sure that you wear the clothes and not that the clothes wear you. To specify myself, what I’m trying to say is before wearing any outfit, the first thing best to do is do some research with regards to your own body. The very important thing here, what many people don’t know or forget, is that every body is different, and what may look good on someone else, doesn’t necessarily have to look good on you too aswell.

One can always manage to look good, if only the clothes are right chosen and they fit the body. This is a must, they have to fit the body. Let me put it this way; one may have an excellent taste in fashion, clothes, jewelry, accessories, but without sufficient knowledge of their own body there is still a chance of committing a fashion blunder.

Therefore if you have a slim posture, it is a good idea to accentuate the parts of your body you are most proud of. For me, for example I love my long slim legs. I am always looking for the best type of clothing to accentuate my legs. But… I don’t have that much upper body. This can be frustrating at times, because a dress can  look this good on the lower side, but not at all a good fit at the upper body. This happens from time to time to me. And I believe this is a common fashion dilemma among many other woman. There is not really much you can do about that unfortunately.

Off course, one doesn’t need to have a size zero to feel or be beautiful. The secret lies in finding the appropriate wardrobe to accentuate the right parts of your body. However, if you have a fuller type of body, it perhaps can be a better idea to wear wider blouses, dresses. This makes you look less full. Remember, a fuller body type comes with more curves, not a curse ladies!

The main message of this article I would like to give all of you, is to find a way of feeling beautiful in your own skin. Not in an egocentric kind of way, just in a way you are happy with the way you look and you can express this to the outside world. However, you can weigh that much and still feel beautiful, that’s great, but keep it as healthy as possible. For yourself it would be a pitty if you would have a lot of health problems because of your weight. Regardless of that fact is, that everyone has a different type of body and that’s fine. As long as you feel comfortable in your own body, it is more than fine.

That’s about the body. Now about the skin:

Some woman are what they call a natural beauty. Meaning they look absolutely gorgeous without make-up. I don’t consider myself to be one of them, not a specific reason whatsoever, I just don’t. But the use of make-up should be with care, and it should look as naturel as possible. However… Make-up can be very expensive, and if you don’t have a lot of money to spend like me, you think twice before purchasing new make-up. The worst mistake you could make as a woman when it comes to make-up is buying really cheap make-up. Yes, it is cheap, but the quality you can expect from such make-up is most of the times on the low side. Which is a real pitty if you ask me, because bad quality can leave your face with ugly spots, and dehydration of the face. Which is not something that just goes away. Until recent I always went for foundation that fitted easily into my budget, but as it turned out wasn’t even the right color and you could see a clear difference in color if not spread well, which is never a good thing. It means you are wearing make-up the wrong way and I was. Shame on me! One has to mess up a few times before finding the right make-up articles.

Two weeks ago I decided to buy high quality make-up, which from now on will be the only kind of make-up I wil be using. An employee of Ici Paris was a great help in finding the right articles for my face. In the end, I went for a foundation of Dior, Diorskin nr 010. The great thing about this foundation is that there’s no need of touching up, because it’s especially for the long wear, and it adjusts perfectly to my skin. No difference in color! Then I went for a rouge of the brand BE and colouring for the eyebrows of the brand Christian Faye. I normally never spend that much on make-up, because it simply doesn’t fit my budget most of the times. I ain’t never going back to what I used before.
